1970s Valentino Tiger's Eye Lion Head Gold Brown Ivory Shoulder Bag

$0

Valentino Garavani is a prominent Italian couture designer having risen to notoriety in the 1960s. Simply put, Valentino’s style can best be described as bold and dramatic. This aesthetic grandeur led to the designer and the house to rise rapidly in the social spheres of high profile women; his designs graced the likes of Jackie Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor.

This circa 1970s shoulder bag echoes Valentino’s superfluous stylings as the purse is decorated with an imposing lion’s head ornament intricately sculpted from tiger’s eye while a thin golden frame implies the lion’s mane. The exterior of the purse features a soft balance of earth tone colors of chocolate brown at the lower front purse panel, an ivory leather flap, and the bag gusset is of a camel brown. The strap is of a same camel brown and is attached by two rings at the top of the bag. A combination of simple color blocking and the sculpted lion head brings together a basic modern line with an outspoken blending of metal and gem textures.
