Patricia Underwood Golden Brown Straw Hat, 1990s
This is a classic and woven straw floppy hat made by renowned New York hat designer Patricia Underwood. Done in a gold brown woven straw with a rolled floppy brim. With its flawless construction, this hat is one of those brilliant designs that looks amazing no matter how you wear or to which side and you tilt it. The sculptural brim is quite flexible you can try rolling it and securing with a hat pin.

Underwood started her hat business in 1976 soon after Richard Avedon photographed Lauren Hutton in one of Underwood’s creations and her business took off. Patricia Underwood is currently a board member of Council of Fashion Designers of America. Her hats are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute, Fashion Institute of Technology Museum and the Philadelphia Art Museum. This iconic Patricia Underwood hat is in excellent condition. Hand made and hand finished, trimmed on the inside with a grosgrain ribbon.
