Christian Dior Pink Beaded Cropped Jacket Top Demi Couture Resort 2009
The French house of Dior is known for its long legacy of refined and traditionally sophisticated couture. Known for his hyper-deconstructionist styles and theatrical shows, creative director John Galliano favored an all-American inspired aesthetic in bright, tropical colors for his 2009 Resort Collection. From that collection, this cropped jacket is a beautiful statement piece.
Done in a pink silk blend and fully lined in pink silk charmeuse, the jacket begins with a U-shape neckline and short sleeves. Fitted with darts at the bust and expertly tailored throughout, the jacket falls just so from lightly structured shoulders, the hem skimming the ribcage for a crisp, posh look.
The neckline, center front, and hems of the sleeves and jacket are finished with a band of orange silk that is edged with gold passementerie trim, offering a gorgeous pop of color while accentuating the natural lines of the body. Featuring hand appliquéd large orange flowers made from glass beads and sequins, the orange silk is further embellished with glass beads and crystals, adding another layer of richness.
