Basha Gold
Lanvin by Alber Elbaz Brown Fur Cocoon Jacket, Hiver 2008
Alber Elbaz was an architect in fashion. His meticulous crafting of angular shapes and use of texture modernized the traditional Lanvin look to a 21st century woman’s standards. The 2008 Lanvin Winter collection featured dark shades of black, grey and beiges in silky fabrics accented by irregular lines and the occasional fur stole.
From this collection, this umber and cocoa brown capelet is made from weasel fur and is flawlessly seamed together. It fits around the shoulder and under the arms creating for a soft bubbling at the back that cocoons around the body like a warm embrace while at the front it plunges to a single gunmetal closure at mid-torso level. Sitting high on the body, this capelet is perfect for adding to an evening ensemble.
