Karl Lagerfeld F/W 1992 Runway Beaded Strapless Sequin Dress

$2,500

The late Karl Lagerfeld is undoubtedly one of the most renowned fashion designers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Having served as creative director of multiple fashion houses simultaneously—most notably Chanel—Lagerfeld’s success lies in the reimagining of the known rather than revolutionizing trends. From his own line, this dress was featured on the F/W 1992 runway and is an exquisite take on the little black dress.

Done in black wool, the strapless design begins with a curving V neckline bordered by red beads. The front and back of the fitted bodice is embellished with an abstract floral pattern made up of shimmering beads and sequins in shades of yellow, pale blue, red, green, champagne, and white. The wool skirt falls to the upper thigh where a trim of shimmering red beads marks the beginning of the sheer mesh stretch portion of the skirt that falls to the ankles in a straight hem, creating a columnar silhouette.

The open back of the bodice is complimented by a knee-high slit at the center back of the skirt, which adds yet another sensual note. The slit and hem of the skirt are bordered by the same red bead trim at the neckline, offering a gorgeous pop of color that draws the dress together visually. A sensational addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this incredible maxi dress is the perfect choice for a wedding, evening soiree, or special occasion, and can easily be styled with statement heels and accessories.

This 1992 Karl Lagerfeld dress is partially lined at the bodice and has a back zip closure. The bodice has boning in the interior to help it maintain its shape. In excellent condition, save for a small hole in the lining only. This dress has been cleansed with obsidian and sage to ensure that you are welcoming a bright new energy into your home, and has also been professionally eco-dry cleaned and pressed. High-quality pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
