Yves Saint Laurent YSL Animal Print Belted Trench Coat

From 2004-2012 Italian designer Stefano Pilati led the YSL label. Pilati’s designs at YSL were tailored and clean speaking more to an Italian linear elegance rather than an organic French opulence. This circa 2007 trench coat embodies Pilati’s design style for the house. Made in a coated cotton twill fabric, the trench coat dons an animal print of beige, chocolate brown, and umber.

Throughout the print features small YSL logos. A Mandarin collar begins the design and moves through the yoked shoulders that create a more squared affect. Moving towards the hem is a boxy silhouette that can be altered by the belt at the waist. With the unexpected print and the linear silhouette, the coat has an overall sharp feel to it.

Fully lined, the coat closes at the neck with a hidden snap and two buttons. Down centre front, it can be fastened by the hidden button placket. At the sides there are two in-seam pockets.
