1990s Chanel Silk Gripoix Jewel Print Blue Leather Tassel Chain Crossbody Bag

Having funded many of her ventures through her capacity the mistress of wealthy businessmen of the time, Chanel’s clientele was often comprised of socialites, and other well-to-do women who sought to display their own, or their partner’s wealth. The essence of this scandalous past is evident in this circa 1990 gripoix printed silk, diamond-quilted crossbody.

The bag boasts this replica jewel print on the rectangular faces, as well as on the sides contrasting beautifully with the royal blue leather that pipes the edges, and finishes the bag. The strap accentuates the gripoix print being comprised of a gold-plated chain interlaced with a thin strip of the leather. On the zip pull, is a blue fringe leather tassel crimped in a gold casing emblematic of a crown with the interlocking “CC” logo embossed.
