Missoni Sleeveless Halter Dress Belted Jacket Set, 2012

$0

Always having a bold pattern or print, Missoni’s charm comes from their perfectly balanced color schemes on perfectly comfortable knitwear. With the 2012 collection being a little more experimental than usual, the bursts of psychedelic colors have a worldlier presence, and are subdued by their earthy designs. Done in cool shades of cadet blue, sky blue, indigo, and honeydew, the halter dress is made from a comfy knit rayon.

A V-neckline that stops just shy of the bust is formed by the almost full-front surplice wrap. Radiating along a diagonal, the striations of colors on the print encircle the body meeting in a perfectly matched chevron at centre back. This angled pattern visually balances the low-back scoop neckline.

Also done in a rayon knit, the jacket has a strong, 1940s silhouette. Prominent shoulders and a wide lapel provide an excellent canvas to show off the stylized chevron of the jacket done in shades of indigo, cerulean, and pale yellow-green and dusty pink. The knit structure of the fabric creates a subtle moiré effect. Fun and functional, two slit pockets are present on the front of the jacket. A large belt cinches the waist for a traditional figure. The boxy linear style of the jacket contrasts the more fluid soft drapes of the halter dress, making this an exciting combo and can certainly be styled as vibrant separates.
