Prada Fairy Collection Red Blue Check Dress Spring 2008

Throughout the years Prada has been responsible for a number of iconic collections. Namely, their Spring 2008 Fairy collection featured whimsical artwork and fantastical prints that spun modern, structured designs into elegant and dreamy ensembles.

From that line, this dress is done in a silk-viscose fabric with a bold blue and red check. The print of the fabric changes size and warps throughout the dress creating a fun and mystical effect. The dress features a black mock neckline that flows into a decorative placket at the left upper chest. A yoke is set into a Y-shaped inset that not only creates an interesting design detail but also fits the dress around the bust.

From a cinched waist, the skirt of the dress accentuates the curve of the hips and finishes at a slightly pegged knee-length hem. Fitted half-length sleeves add a final mod element to the design.
