Bill Tice Cream Velvet Feather Trim Caftan Robe 1970s
American fashion designer Bill Tice had a deep understanding of lingerie and loungewear. A New York Times article notes he was “known for designing dresses and pajamas that could be worn inside or outside the home.” He elevated his designs by using attractive colors and materials to give “at-home wear a less casual look.”
For example, this ankle- length caftan robe is comfortable enough to lounge in but its dramatic feather embellished sleeves are sure to make a statement. Done in a lightweight drapey ivory velour, the robe has a plunging V neckline, three quarter length sleeves, and closes with a fully removable belt of the same fabric featuring ivory tassels on each end.
This 1970s design is very much of its time, reflecting the disco and glam fashions of the decade. The ivory velour has a pleasing shimmer and drapes rather wonderfully, while the creme feathers on the sleeves add a nice feminine touch.

Tice firmly believed that women should always look and feel stunning, even if they were just lounging at home. He even wrote a book about it - Enticements: How to Look Fabulous in Lingerie (1985). This ivory velour caftan robe however, needs no instruction manual, and is sure to make you feel beautiful no matter where you are.
