Michel McNabb is an artisan jewelry designer based in West Palm Beach, practicing masterful techniques and intricate, centuries old metallurgy processes. Inspired by nature, architecture, and the beauty of the world around her, this collection by Michel features the process of enameling and has been designed exclusively for Basha Gold.

This cubist style necklace achieves its gemlike shine from Michel’s skillful usage of vitreous enameling. For this piece, Michel uses a hydraulic press to form the inset where the enamel lays. It is then layered in multiple thin coats and fired up to fifteen times to achieve the lucid blue, glass sheen on the metal. The final white stripe is applied through a “sugar coat” process by which the enamel is removed before fusing to the layer below.

The chain is handmade from hammered sterling silver, each link having its own unique form. Along the chain, three rectangular enamel bars of red and white echo the stripes found on the blue pendant. No detail is overlooked in this piece. The clasp is also hand carved and cast using the lost wax technique. This necklace design is sporty and cultured–a go to piece to highlight any neckline.
