Basha Gold
Tiffany & Co. Angela Cummings Gold Diamond Platinum Ginko Leaf Brooch
Angela Cummings is one of the few renown jewelry designers publicly acknowledged to have designed for the iconic Tiffany & Co. alongside the likes of Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso. Born in Austria, Cummings began designing at Tiffany in the late 1960s until 1984 when she left to open her own boutique.
Cummings’ designs are typically informed by nature and minimalistic in style. She is known to have designed jewelry at many price points hoping that more women would have the opportunity to take part in her jewelry. Presumably an earlier piece from her time at Tiffany, this brooch is made from platinum and 18K yellow gold wrought in the shape of a curled ginkgo leaf.
The leaf portion of the brooch is smooth with slight furrowing along the edge giving it a slight texture and contrast with light. The stem is set with 0.15 carats of round brilliant diamonds and 0.04 carats of single cut diamonds.
Measurements:
Length: 1.8 inches
Width: 1.4 inches
A discontinued piece, no longer available for sale by Tiffany, this brooch is especially a collector’s piece. In excellent condition, this brooch has a pin closure and is signed with the Tiffany & Co. engraving on the stem.
