Michel McNabb for Basha Gold Blue Sugar Coat Enamel Silver Cage Necklace
Michel McNabb is an artisan jewelry designer based in West Palm Beach, practicing masterful techniques and intricate, centuries old metallurgy processes. Inspired by nature, architecture, and the beauty of the world around her, this collection by Michel features the process of vitreous enameling and has been designed exclusively for Basha Gold.
This unique piece of jewelry uses a very difficult technique called "sugar coat" . After several coats of enamel on both the front and back of the triangle, the final coat is placed and removed from the kiln just before the point of fusion, causing the effect of sprinkled colored sugar. Each grain glistens in the light. The cage setting is hand fabricated in sterling silver, elevating the necklace from the body. When seen from the back, the workmanship of this piece can be admired. The chain is sterling silver equipped with a lobster clasp for ease of wear.
