Michel McNabb for Basha Gold Reversible Blue and Pink Quadrilateral Necklace
Michel McNabb is an artisan jewelry designer based in West Palm Beach, practicing the masterful techniques of intricate, centuries old metallurgy processes. Inspired by nature, architecture, and the beauty of the world around her, this collection by Michel features the process of enameling and has been designed exclusively for Basha Gold.
Not only is this necklace created with a craftsman vitreous enameling technique, it’s reversible! This two-in-one necklace has a copper base with thinly layered enamel shaping each side and is fired up least fifteen times to produce the glassy shimmer. This necklace is formed into a clean Quadrilateral shape that hints of an ancient artifact. On one side a smooth baby pink has been outfitted with an 18-karat gold leaf band that runs down the center. On the other side, an almost distressed marine blue speaks to an ancient mood as it is interrupted by cloudy veining of white, and another gold leaf band down the middle. The pink side is demure and serene while the blue is dynamic and brooding allowing for two distinct possibilities. Because of the unique shape, the necklace hangs slightly asymmetrically from its oxidized silver chain tying in the artistic questioning of balance.
