1960s Gold Pink Brocade Fur collar Evening Coat Att. Oscar de la Renta

$1,200

Oscar de la Renta is a legend in the realm of fashion. Launching his own brand in 1965 after working for iconic designers such as Balenciaga, de la Renta quickly established himself as the benchmark for class, elegance, and glamour.

Attributed to Oscar de la Renta, this 1960s evening coat exudes a graceful opulence. It is impeccably cut from brocade resplendent in zigzag stripes of silver, gold, and light pink. The round fur collar cocoons around the neck, offering a nice contrast of texture to the crisp brocade while lending the coat a regal air.

Three-quarter length raglan cut sleeves fall just-so from lightly structured shoulders, balancing the maxi length silhouette. The upper front placket is set with three large round buttons covered in the same fabric, creating a long front slit that allows for greater ease of movement while the metallic-threaded brocade glimmers and catches the light.

A delightful addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this beautiful evening coat is the perfect choice for a winter wedding, gala, or special occasion, and can easily be styled with statement heels and accessories. Although the only label that remains on the interior is a “Montaldo” store label, this coat is most likely an Oscar de la Renta design.

This 1960s evening coat is fully lined in light pink taffeta and has three button closures along the central front placket. In very good condition, it has been professionally eco-dry cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
