Chloé Runway Pastel Yellow Ruffled Layered Silk Chiffon Dolman Dress, Fall 2014

$0

Chloé has become an authority on molding garments into almost sculptural forms with incredible lightweight, and sheer fabrics. What separates Chloé from a long line of regal haute couture, is that the brand was founded to be ready to wear, just upscale, thus marrying an ease of wear dynamic, with intense fabric manipulation techniques to construct dimension, and texture.

From the Fall 2014 collection designed by Clare Waight Keller, this pastel yellow silk chiffon dress is made from angled panels of layered chiffon that inform an airy movement when worn. Because it is made of chiffon, the dress itself remains significantly light despite the multiple layers. The dress is of a semi-hourglass silhouette and has dolman sleeves that only imply the layering effect. Founder of the house of Chloé, Gaby Aghion, kept the company of great practitioners of the arts, one being Picasso. The haphazard layers of this dress design mirror an imaginary collaboration between the brand, and its historical ties.

Measurements: Size 36

Light, and airy, this dress is made from silk chiffon in a style that creates appropriate volume, yet is nonetheless easy to wear. It has a high, jewel neckline that sits right along the base of the neck, as well as dolman long sleeves that can easily be rolled to various lengths emphasizing or minimizing the dramatic batwing shape at the underarm.

Closing with an invisible zip at centre back, the dress cascades just below the knee. Inside, it is lined in a matching color silk crepe. In excellent condition, high-quality pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
