Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Swan Minaudiere Rare, 1980s

$0

Getting her start as a runway model for notable designers such as Halston and Issey Miyake, Elsa Peretti soon shifted to become renown in another realm of luxe fashion: jewelry. After designing her first piece of sterling silver jewelry, Peretti was quickly signed by Tiffany & Co. in 1974 and reintroduced sterling silver to the famed retailer. Peretti’s signature was nondescript organic shapes that showcased the purity of the metal to create clean and polished accessories to finish off almost any look.

Peretti’s designs were donned by prominent women such as Liza Minelli, Diana Ross, and Kate Middleton and was even a favorite among designers like Halston and Giorgio di Saint’Angelo. From circa 1981, this extremely rare Peretti minaudiere clutch is done in sterling silver in the shape of a swan.

The clutch has a sleek and smooth profile that showcases the workmanship of the cast metal. From the swan’s neck, a black silk braided tassel forms a wrist strap. Inside, the clutch is lined in a black leather. This vintage Peretti minaudiere is extremely versatile and makes for a simply luxurious way to round out an evening ensemble.
