Prada "Naked Lady" Print Plunge Neck Silk Blouse Sex and The City, 2001
With a pantheon of outstanding prints and memorable design pieces, Miucci Prada finds new ways to be inventive without pushing the envelope too far. Borrowing from Scottish artist, C.R. Mackintosh’s Art Nouveau designs, Prada developed a highly iconic blouse in 2001 that is now a rare collector’s piece.
This “Naked Lady” print blouse is done in a light silk and showcases the stylized silhouettes of nude women on a black and white, polka-dotted ground. The motif is arranged to produce a simple scrolling design when seen from afar without the immediate recognition of the nude female forms that make up the design.
Long-sleeved, and a risky plunging V-neckline, this blouse just at thigh level and incorporates an attached belt to cinch in the waist. Notably, the dress version of this exact same print is worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.
