Yves Saint Laurent Red Silk Flamenco Skirt YSL, Runway 2003
Interpreting YSL’s curiosity for various cultural styling into his own more seductive perspective, Tom Ford created a vivid, jewel-toned collection with subtle glints of Spanish influence. From the Fall 2003 RTW collection, this flamenco inspired skirt is made in a captivating red silk that rests on the hip. The skirt features dramatic flounces and ruffles from the front closure that form a high-low hemline extend to ankle-length in the back.
Because the skirt is wrapped, this can be repositioned at different points along the front of the body. Around the hem, the flounces are only attached periodically allowing for cutouts to be made. The skirt gently hugs the wearer in a sensual, feminine aura that can be softened or highlighted depending on the ensemble. Such styling can be seen above in the image from the 2003 runway.
Measurements:
Size estimate: S/M
Waist: 27 inches

Unlined, this skirt closes with a series of hook and eyes that can be concealed beneath the flounces. Professionally eco dry cleaned and pressed, this skirt is in very good condition with one stain (image #11) that did not come out during cleaning, however can easily be hidden in the drape.
